            MALTA-Kenneth H. Jensen, 87, an Army Air Corp Veteran of WWII and retired farmer died Monday, July 11, at the Phillips County Hospital of natural causes.

    Rosary will be 7:00 P.M., Friday, July 15, 2016 at the Kirkwood Memorial Chapel, Mass will be 10:00 A.M. Saturday, July 16 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Malta. Interment with Military Honors will be in the Hillside Cemetery at Dodson Condolences for the family may be left at www.kirkwoodfuneralhome.com.

    Ken was born North of Dodson on the family homestead to Hans and Ethel (Young) Jensen. He graduated from Dodson High School in 1946 and enlisted in the Army Air Corp, serving until 1948. After his discharge he attended college at Bozeman for 2 years before returning to the farm in 1950. He took over the farm in 1952. Ken married Evelyn Deflyer on June 3, 1967 in Malta; she passed away on January 19, 1979. He married Ellene Halvorson on June 13, 1980; she passed away on January 30, 2012. Ken was a member of the Toast Masters, 32 years as the Knights of Columbus Secretary, Charter Member of the Registered Angus Association, was a weather watcher for 30 years, American Legion Member and was a avid stamp collector for many years.

    Survivors include step children, Mark (Cindy Osland) Halvorson of Billings, Ross (Deborah) Halvorson of Billings, Karen (Matt Nyquist) Halvorson of Salem, Oregon; Step Grand Children Megan and Tanner Halvorson and Kelly Nyquist, and step great grandchildren Cullen and Carlie Nyquist and numerous nieces and nephews.
