Claris Ereaux was born on August 25, 1938 in Dodson, MT to Ilene (Burlingame) and Fred Ereaux. She was the third of eleven children who grew up in South Wagner. She attended South Wagner School and at 16 she and sister June moved to town and rented an apartment while working and finishing high school. She worked at the Chu Chu Inn and the ASCS office. She married and had 6 children. With three children of her own and twins on the way she opened her home and her heart to raise her two younger sisters, Stella and Darla. For brief periods of time the family lived in Bozeman, Great Falls, and Lewistown moving back to Malta where she worked for the Ford Motor Dealership, the GN and finally for her brother, Ezzie, at Ezzie’s Wholesale and Westside Self-Service.

Her home was a haven for food and fellowship. Claris was known for her quick wit and famous dill pickles. She enjoyed playing cards, gardening and canning, but her love of family and her unselfish heart were her greatest attributes. The light of her life was her grandchildren. She exposed her true spirit of love and devotion in the relationships she shared with all of them.

Claris was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Monica; sisters, LaDonna and June; brothers, Ezzie, Carrol, Byron, and Roger; brother-in-law, James Fitzpatrick; and numerous aunts and uncles.

She is survived by her children- sons, Rob (Pam), Jeff (Lona), Clark (Candace), and Clyde; daughter, Ilene (Stuart) Robinson; sisters, Phyllis Harrington, Stella (John) Murray, Darla (Leo) Barthelmess; brother, Roy (Marian); sisters-in-law, Jean, Jane and Lynette Ereaux; grandchildren- Quincie, Craig, Anna, Eric, Scott, Thadeus, Curtis, Shanay, Cru, Jay, Cassi, Kayla, Johnny, Cole and Reid and several great grandchildren.

My deepest sympathy. Claris was a fun gal to visit with. I got to know her when we all lived in the South Wagner community. Such a kind and giving person who will truely be missed. God Bless!

Whenever I think of your Mom I picture her in the bleachers wearing her blue and white attire cheering on the Malta Mustangs. Such a great spirit and dedicated Mother.

With love and remembrance.
