Mr. Ralph Edward “Mac” McClellan of Zortman, Montana, passed away on Tuesday October 16, 2018 at the age of 79.

Mac was raised as an only child of his parents Mr. and Mrs. Annie Clara and Guy William McClellan. He was born on November 19, 1939 in North Carolina where he grew up. After graduating from high school, Mac attended college and attained a Bachelor’s degree. For most of his life he enjoyed working on the boat yards in North Carolina.

After his retirement, Mac decided to move west. He traveled to Montana and realized that is where he was going to call home. In 2005 while visiting Montana, Mac adopted his best friend “Brown”. He said he got the pick of the litter when he adopted his buddy. After a short trip back to North Carolina, Mac and Brown settled in Zortman, where they made numerous friends and enjoyed their surroundings.

Mac had many interesting stories of his past and enjoyed telling them. He made friends wherever he went and could remember names and stories of most of them. He enjoyed hunting and the outdoors. He treasured the scenery of the Missouri breaks and Little Rocky Mountains while he explored sites in the Zortman area.

Mac is survived by his buddy Brown. He is preceded in death by his father, Guy William McClellan and his mother Annie Clara “Dickson” McClellan.

Mac will be missed by many.

Upon Mac’s request cremation has taken place and friends and extended family are invited to attend a celebration of life sometime in the near future. Friends are grateful for the condolences but declines flowers and donations.
