Allen was born January 28, 1948 at Long Beach, California, the son of Louis J. and Loretta B. (Mason) Dvorak. He joined the Navy in April 1966 and served aboard the USS Char, a Navy Submarine, during the Vietnam War. He was a Mechanist Mate 3, and was lead machinist onboard. He received an honorable discharge on July 23, 1969.

He met and married Linda Goff in May 1966 in Downey, Calif. They had two children, Todd Allen Dvorak and Michelle Marie Dvorak, however they were divorced in 1977.

Allen met and married Royetta Wimmer on January 1, 1990 at Lake Havasu, Arizona. They moved to Montana in 1991 and bought a house in Darby. They also built a home in Helena before retiring to Malta in 2005. While retired they enjoyed serving 15 years as camp hosts at James Kipp campground and the CMR refuge. Which brought us to Malta in 2005 and we bought the 100 year old Simanton house and refurbished it.

Allen is survived by his wife, Royetta; his children Todd (Barbara) and Michelle; five stepchildren; Melody, Tammy, John, Amy and Brian; 19 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren; God Daughter, Skye Miner.
