MALTA- Helen Ethel (Sawyer) Wombold age 99 of Malta passed away of natural causes at the Hi-Line Retirement Center on May 6th. Family will receive friends on Friday, May 10, 2019 at 7:00 P.M at Kirkwood Memorial Chapel. Funeral services will be Saturday, May 11, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. at Kirkwood Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow the services in the Malta Cemetery. Condolences for the family may be left at www.kirkwoodfuneralhome.com.

Helen was born on Dec. 15, 1919, with her twin brother, to James and Cora Sawyer in Malta. Helen grew up in Malta with four brothers and one sister. Helen finished 8th grade and went to work on the family farm. On September 26, 1935 Helen married, the love of her life, John Wombold. Helen and John raised five children on their sugar beet farm in South Wagner. The family later moved to Malta and Helen worked at various businesses as a housekeeper, retiring from the Phillips County Hospital.

Helen was preceded in death by, her parents; all her brothers and sister; husband John; daughter Bonnie and son in law Darrell Dyer; daughter in law Sharon (Sandvick), granddaughter Tammy (Omdahl) Young and grandson Robert Dyer.

Helen is survived by her sons, Don, Stan (Doris), Roger (Myrna), daughter Barb (Gene) Omdahl. Many grandkids, great grandkids, and great-great grandkids.

Helen will be missed very much but we all have a beautiful angel watching over us.

Helen was another one of those I met when I moved here. No matter where we ran into one another she always took the time to ask how I was doing. She always requested a hug thus transferring her warmth to me.

so sorry ,I loved her dearly. i will see her in the new world ,where she will not die again ,she is just sleeping waiting to come back as her beautiful loving self ,she will come back and grow younger through the years ,she will be in a happy peaceful place, no sorrow ,no pain ,no suffering ,like we have now she will have joy and happiness. i will miss her hugs, i loved her dearly.
