John was born on August 03, 1935 to Sherman and Ida Webb in Turner, Montana. He was the second born in a family of 12 children. He was raised on the family ranch that his father homesteaded in 1912 and continued to operate until his death.
John worked for the railroad as a young man before starting a cattle trucking business. He prided himself for having some of the nicest equipment around. John married Frances Anderson on November 20, 1957. They had five children together; Bill, Jim, Tom, Lori and Sue, 13 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
John is preceded in death by his wife Frances, son Tom, grandsons Duane and Tom, brothers Arthur, Sam and Charlie.
John is survived by his children Bill (Patti), Jim (Denise), Lori Knudsen (Steve), and Sue Gilkerson (Matt), 11 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by daughters-in-law Betty Bridwell and Darla Webb and brothers Jim, Robert and Sherman and sisters Marie Robertson, Deloris Marriage, Rose Ann Watts, Magdalina Webb, and Patti Wilke.
