Judy was born September 20, 1941 at
Malta, the daughter of Louis Joseph Plouffe and Mabel (Homier)
Plouffe. She was raised and educated at in the East Strater
Community. She married the love of her life Richard
Messerly on April 17, 1961 in Havre.
Judy’s family was of utmost
importance to her with four boys by 1967, there was never a dull
moment in their house—whether it was in Skykomish, WA or their
hometown Malta, MT. Judy worked hard all her life
waitressing and bartending to help provide for her family, while
Richard was on the road working for the railroad. She
always had time for a garage sale; card/dice game (31, cribbage
or pinochle); listen to live music and dance; or to follow her
children/grandchildren’s events. Judy’s love for all her
family ran deep, she was even blessed with housing her niece
Terri in Skykomish and babysitting her grandchildren Rheanna,
Darrow and Dallan after retiring from managing the Kid Curry
Lounge.
Everyone was ALWAYS welcome to join
Judy for a great meal, anytime day or night, she loved feeding
family, friends and any extra’s that would happen to crash in
her home. There was no-way you would leave Judy’s home
hungry or feeling un-loved.
Survivors include her sons, Grant (Shilo) of Malta, Clete (Lisa)
of Wooden Hill, Washington, Quint (Gail) of Helena, Chad of
Missoula; step son Tony Messerly and step-daughter, Lorna Smith;
