Leroy was born July 4, 1947 to Ray and Clarice Dyrdahl of Loring, Montana.

What a firecracker. As a child he thought all the parades and fireworks were for him. As time went on he got more interested in hot cars. His pride and joy was a 69’ Nova supposedly the fastest car on the Hiline!

After his school he worked at the smelter in Great Falls for a period of time. Later he worked at M&F Chevy in Malta. Finally he decided he was going to help his father work the farm in Loring. In 1975 he met a city girl named Debbie they married just 6 weeks after their meeting and shared 44 wonderful years together. In 2000 they sold the farm and he worked a variety of jobs until his illness got the better of him.

Leroy was instrumental in building Hi-Line dragstrip working many hours on concrete, and hauling many materials. He spent many hours running the water box.

He is survived by his wife Debbie, his sister Sharon Hill (Dusty), cousins Jack and Jane Bogut of Pittsburgh, Don & Emily of Kalispell and Marilyn Bogut of Dillon, nieces Darla Shrock, Rochelle Jarrett (Bryce), and grand nieces, Emily & Aimee Shrock; sister in law Jerilyn Bisbee of Denver, Colorado, Brother in laws Jack Halter of Seattle Washington, Jim Halter of Grants Pass, Oregon.

I was so sorry to hear about Leroy's passing I always enjoyed my visits with him. It is sad to think that there are no longer any Dyrdahls in Phillips County. I am sorry that I will not be able to attend his service. God Bless! Donna

Debbie, I am so, so sorry for your loss. And sorry that I didn't make a better effort to see you guys on my visits in recent years. I did get to talk to Leroy for a few minutes when I was there in June. He didn't call me by name, but it was sure nice to see the smile and watch his eyes light up when he saw me. Take comfort in know that Leroy is now having a big happy reunion with all of his family and friends who have gone on before him.

Man, what memories from working with you constructing the drag strip here in Matla. You were quiet and unassuming, just did the work and always a smile. Your contributions to the drag strip won't be forgotten.
Miss you dear friend, you are in a great area now, look down on us and keep the smile.

"Leroy," my friend, you were the best friend a person could have had during our childhood days and after high school days. In someways it seems like yesterday that we worked at M&F Chevrolet, the party's, the National Guard, and the cars! I swear you had every kind of car General Motors built! After riding in the Nova (425 HP) I swore I would never get in that car again! Debbie, Sharon and family friends, share your memories with each other for this special person!

Debbie, Sharon, and family,
My grandparents Lewis and Bertha Dyrdahl were cousins to Leroy's dad. Summers on their farm I got to know and have fun with my new cousin Leroy, I have been a car nut since I was 12 years old so remember Leroy for his earlier nice cars, (40 Chevy Coupe and 57 Chevy 4 door 210). He was only couple of years older so we could relate. GREAT TIMES. One time he and I were in the fields while his dog was in his car waiting. His dog got tired of waiting and started tearing apart the headliner of his coupe. My dear grandma did not know what to do. Needless to say Leroy was not happy. I Sure liked Leroy and regret not keeping in touch. .
My wife and I are very sorry for your loss. Our prayers are with you right now!
