Malta- Peter Kyle Wiese 76, died July 20, 2019 at the Phillips County Hospital of natural causes.

Graveside services will be Friday, August 2, 2019 at 2:00 P.M. at Malta Cemetery with Military honors. A reception will follow at the VFW. Condolences for the family may be left at www.kirkwoodfuneralhome.com

Peter K. Wiese was born in Malta, MT on October 1, 1942 to Kyle and Georgia (Smith) Wiese.  He was raised on the family farm south of Malta, graduating from Malta High School in 1960, then later from Northern Montana College in Havre.  He joined the Marine Corps in 1960 and served until 1965, where he served in Vietnam.  He later served in the Montana Army National Guard where he completed his 28 year military career.

Pete married Clarine Vert on October 15, 1965 in Sturgis, SD.  The couple had 7 children, Lenora, Dan, JoAnn, Lee (Monkey), Art, Rob and John.  They farmed and ranched south and west of Malta for many years before moving to California during the 80’s to work as a John Deere service technician.  The family returned to Malta in 1987 and resumed the farming operation while also working in town. 

He was preceded in death by his parents Kyle and Georgia (Smith) Wiese, wife Clarine (Vert) Wiese, and son Walter Lee (Monkey) Wiese.

Pete is survived by sister Rosemary Black of Williston, ND, daughter Lenora Perkins of Saco, son Danford and Carrie Wiese of Havre, daughter JoAnn Dunlap of Reno, NV, son Arthur and Wanda Wiese of Havre, son Robert Wiese of Malta, and son John and Janni Wiese of Malta, as well and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Pete had a love of all types of agriculture and will always be remembered for his hard work ethic and mechanical skills.  He was devoted to his family and worked tirelessly to provide everything that they needed, even if that meant he went without.

Marine, Soldier, Farmer, Rancher, Mechanic, Son, Brother, Husband, Uncle, Dad, Grandpa and above all….Friend.
