Thane had a million-dollar smile that
could brighten anyone’s day. He enjoyed life to the
fullest, especially when he was with his horses, which were his
biggest passion. He was an
all-around cowboy that could do just about anything and would
always get calls from Ranchers from all over asking for him to
come and help them move cows, brand, etc. He broke horses
for numerous people and was always getting requests from people
for him to either break their horses or “ride them down”. Thane
enjoyed roping, hunting and fishing and hanging out with “the
boys” and all his friends. He was an exceptional athlete and was
good at any sport he played but basketball was his forte.
He could jump like no other evidenced by his many resounding
dunks during his junior high and high school basketball games.
Thane enjoyed spending time with his
son Braxtyn who was his pride and joy and his little mini-me.
Braxtyn always talked about going to see Dad “Nane” in Hays and
woping like dad. Thane was an enrolled Nakoda and also a member
of the Medicine Bear Clan and the Bad Moccasin Clan. He
also was a descendent of the Aaniiih Tribe and member of the
Frozen and Fast Travelers Clans. He was an avid believer in our
Indian ways of the Big Lodge.
Thane is survived by his son Braxtyn
